Geothermal heat pump working principle

Geothermal source heat pumps work by extracting heat from pipes laid in the ground outside your home. Using the heat extracted from the underground soil or water, the mixture of water and anti-freeze in your piping is then pumped through the loop to a heat compressor which concentrates it to a higher, more useful heat for use in the heating and hot water circuits. The ground loop fluid is then passed back to the loop pipes to extract more heat and repeat the process.The source side buried pipe can be horizontal and vertical.

Application

UPSUN water to water geothermal source heat pumps can supply domestic/commercial hot water and/or house heating. With 3-way valve, the heat pump controller can change the circulating direction of water between hot water tank and house heating system, and set hot water as priority.
